Bio

I am a Brooklyn-based journalist and editor who lived and worked in Moscow, Russia, for 10 years. I spent six years with The Moscow Times, Russia's leading English-language newspaper, where I worked as a reporter, news editor and managing editor. I've written about everything from chess to crime to capital markets in Russia. I've written for The Nation, Foreign Policy, Time.com, Sports Illustrated, the Daily Telegraph and Monocle Magazine, among other publications.
I was born and raised in Wenatchee, Washington -- "The Apple Capital of the World" -- and am known among friends for my savvy point guard play.
